And now let´s start with your questions to Ms. Mouth. ANA: Which system do you belong to? MS MOUTH: I am the most important part of your body because I belong to the digestive system, to the respiratory system and I can say “I love you” which is the most beautiful sentence in the world. MARÍA: Do you work alone or are you a team? MS MOUTH: I belong to a very good team made up of teeth which chew the food, the tongue which is a muscle and mixes the food with saliva and the lips which smile to you and they sometimes can kiss you. PEDRO: A taste bud told me you didn´t like bitter tastes, is it true? MS MOUTH: The taste buds are so talkative but it is true, I prefer sweet flavours. ANA: What can you tell to the people who are listening to you. MS MOUTH: Well, I am born with a silver spoon in my mouth so I love when I am clean, and it is very important to me you brush your teeth after eating every day. MARÍA: What is your most difficult job? MS MOUTH: I have to pay special attention when you are eating, because I have to send the food to the esophagus and the air to the trachea and a mistake here could be very dangerous. PEDRO: Can you tell me why Mr Stomach is no so happy with you? MS MOUTH: Well, he says that he has to work a lot because I don´t chew the food properly with my teeth but he has to zip his mouth, that is his business and he has gastric juices to help him. TEACHER: Well, it is time to stop arguing because we are going to solve the mysterious question. And in 1 mililitre of saliva there are in fact as many microorganisms as habitants in China, that is 1,400 millions of microorganisms. Who guessed it? Ok. Congratulations to you. thanks to you three for your questions, Thanks to Ms. Mouth for coming here and see you in our next programme about FUNNY SCIENCE TALKS. Bye Bye!

TEACHER: And we have to say hello to our three pupils who are going to make the questions. Hello Ana! ANA: Hello! TEACHER: How are you María! MARÍA: I am fine thank you! TEACHER: And we have to say hello to Pedro too! PEDRO: Hello every one! TEACHER: But we are going to start with a mysterious question to you three and you have to guess the answer. Ready? Let´s go then. And the question is: How many hours does the food remain in your stomach when you eat? And the possible answers are 1) 1 hour, 2) 2 hours or 3) 4 hours. TEACHER: Ok. So interesting but I´ll tell you the answer later on. And now let´s start with your questions to Mr. Stomach. ANA: Which system do you belong to? MR. STOMACH: I am a very important organ and I belong to the digestive system. MARÍA: And where exactly are you? MR. STOMACH: I am under the esophagus and over the small intestine. PEDRO: What is your real job? MR. STOMACH: I have to break down all the food you eat with my gastric juices. ANA: What is your relationship with the rest of the organs in the digestive system. MR. STOMACH: Well, I have a very good relationship with the small intestine, he is my neighbour and he breaks down the food I couldn´t break it down. I can tell you that the esophagus doesn´t do anything, he just connects the mouth with me. And I must confess that I have some troubles with the mouth, because she is so beautiful and her friends are strong teeth but I have to do the job she doesn´t do when she doesn´t chew the food properly. MARÍA: Any other problem with other organs? MR. STOMACH: Yes, of course, with your eyes. Because you sometimes think that your eyes are bigger than your stomach and then I have to work a lot to finish the meal. You have to respect the stomach, you have to respect me, I am one of the most important organs in your body. PEDRO: Can you tell me why do you think you are so important? MR. STOMACH: Because nutrition is one of the three basic life processes. If you don´t eat you are hungry and a hungry man is an angry man. THE LAKE FROM SANABRIA

THE LAKE FROM SANABRIA Welcome to the history, welcome to the legend, welcome to Zamora. Come with us and listen to very old secrets, amazing adventures and beautiful princesses. And today: THE LAKE FROM SANABRIA. Throught this legend you will know the origin of the huge lake which is in Sanabria. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………… People say that it was a rainy day, it was windy and it was very, very cold. When a poor girl who was a pilgrim walking with a cane arrived in the village of Valverde de Lucerna asking for food. But no one attended her, except some women who were baking bread in the bakery. They allowed her to enter the oven room so that he could shelter from the intense cold and satisfy his hunger with some bread. Suddenly, the girl turned out to be a witch, she decided to punish the people for their lack of charity. The witch told the women in the bakery that they had to go to the mountains, because she was going to destroy the village with water. Then the witch stuck his cane into the ground saying: “Here I dig my cane and and water will gush out. Here I dig my cane and the water will destroy the town.” The water gushed out, flooding the whole town of Valverde de Lucerna with the houses and the people. And that lovely valley was now a lake. Only the bakery was saved, and you can see it if you go to the lake, it is the small island which is in the water. The people from the village couldn´t even remove the two bells from the church. And this is these are the bells that good people can hear ringing from the bottom of the waters on the night of San Juan, the 24th of June, every year. ………………………………………………………………………………………… This was our legend today, THE LAKE FROM SANABRIA. Come to Zamora and live your own legend.

SAN ATILANO, THE FISH AND THE RING

SAN ATILANO, THE FISH AND THE RING Welcome to the history, welcome to the legend, welcome to Zamora. Come with us and listen to very old secrets, amazing adventures and beautiful princesses. And today: SAN ATILANO, THE FISH AND THE RING. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Once upon a time, there was a good man called Atilano. He was the bishop of Zamora, the leader of the church in the city. But he thought he didn´t deserve to be the most important man among his people. And he decided to leave the city. He became a pilgrim to go to the Holy Land. When he was leaving Zamora he stopped by the river Duero, he threw his ring from the stone bridge to the water and shouted: “Only if I find the ring I will be the bishop of Zamora again.” And he started his pilgrimage. He went to the Holy Land and after a few years he came back to Zamora. When he arrived back, he went to have lunch with some friends close to a church called Santo Sepulcro. And he ordered a fish from the river. And what a surprise when he could she inside the fish the ring he had threw some years ago to the water. As soon as he took his ring, the bells started to ring and his old clothes of pilgrim changed into gorgeous bishop garments. Next day he was again the bishop of Zamora. He was San Atilano, a very good man, who was loved by his people and God had decided that he deserved to be the leader of the church in the city. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………… This was our legend today, SAN ATILANO, THE FISH AND THE RING.
