2022 REMOVING THE MASKS

INTERVIEWER 1: Hello everyone and welcome to the past, this is THE TIME CAPSULE. Here we are going to travel in time and we will visit some pupils in the past in Medalla Milagrosa School in Zamora (Spain). We will listen to them and we will learn how they live. How did they feel? And many other things that will help you to know our history. INTERVIEWER 2:Do you want to be a member in our Spaceship? Come and sail the time with THE TIME CAPSULE! Today we will visit YEAR: 2022, REMOVING THE MASKS. After two years of pandemic people are starting to remove their masks. Board the Spaceship. Hurry up! 3-2-1-0 INTERVIEWER 3: Who are you? 1_________: I am ____, I am ___ years old and I live in Zamora. 2_________: I am ____, I am ___ years old and I live in Zamora. 3_________: I am ____, I am ___ years old and I live in Zamora. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… INTERVIEWER 1: Today is the fourth of May in YEAR 2022, people are REMOVING THEIR MASKS. It is 11 o'clock. I know you can remove your masks but I can see that some of you are wearing them, why? 1_________: Yes, You are allowed to remove your mask in the classroom but some pupils don't feel safe so they prefer carrying them indoors. 2_________: And other people are used to covering their face and they don't like removing them. 3_________:The windows must be opened in the classroom. And when a pupil is infected with COVID he attends the lessons online from home too. That is the same as last year. But this year we have started to do different activities outside school. 1_________: Yes, We had our Athletics competitions in Milagrosa Festival in The Sports Centre and we have made Routes on Nature in Zamora. We have started with our trips again, because we can get on school buses too. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… INTERVIEWER 2: That is very good news, isn't it? 1______: That is true, but there is very bad news about a war. 2______: Yes, because Russia has attacked Ukraine, so millions of people from Ukraine have fled to other countries. 3_______: And the cost of living has risen a lot, especially food, natural gas and petrol. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… INTERVIEWER 3: And what about the volcano in La Palma? 1_________: It started to erupt last year, during the month of September in 2021. 2_________: Yes, and it has been erupting in lava for 85 days. We could see it everyday on the news. 3_________: It was so sad, because some people have lost their houses and their land to grow banana trees. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… INTERVIEWER 1: Thank you so much everyone! And any other things you want to tell our listeners about this year? 1_________: Yes, one day In March strong winds brought red powder from the North of Africa and in the morning all of the cars were covered with red powder and the sky was red too. The next two days were raining and it was raining mud, everything in the streets were dirty. 2_________: And we have a new headmistress, Sor Lucía. She was here some years ago and she has come back again. 3_________: Everybody wants to come here to our school in Zamora. PUPILS 1, 2: Yes, of course / You are right. INTERVIEWER 1,2,3/PUPILS 1, 2, 3: Bye, bye / Have a lovely day / Goodbye / … INTERVIEWER 2: This was our trip today, YEAR: 2022, REMOVING THE MASKS. After this programme was recorded, in June, there was one of the worst fires in Zamora. It was in Sierra de la Culebra. Where people, villages, and animals suffered the strong uncontrolled flames. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
