Do you remember when has the lockdown started and how long will it last?
1________: It started the 15th of March but we don´t know when it is going to finish.
TEACHER: And what is happening in your city?
2________: Well, it is not only in Zamora, it is in Spain and in the whole world, you cannot go outside and just some special workers can go to their jobs; as doctors, fire brigades, police officers, and only food shops are opened.
TEACHER: And what about your school?
3________: We don´t go to school nowadays. We have to be in our houses, but we attend 2 lessons online every day and we have to do homework, as well as extra activities to enjoy during the afternoon because it is so boring to stay at home.
TEACHER: What can you see in the street if you look through the window?
1________: There is nobody in the street. Just some people can walk the dogs for 1 hour a day.
2________: People go to the balconies at 8:00 to applaud the sanitary workers as doctors or nurses.
3________: And you can see pictures of rainbows on the windows made by children with the sentence “Stay at home”.
TEACHER: And what do you do during the afternoon?
1________: Tv is boring because they are speaking all the time about the pandemic and there aren´t any sports programmes on the grounds that they have stopped too.
2________: We can not go to the park, so we meet our friends online.
3________: And we practice some dance or sport challenges we can see in internet.
TEACHER: They are very strange days.
1________: Yes, we make bread at home and my father goes shopping once a week and he says that he doesn´t know anyone because everybody wears a mask on the face. And there is no toilet paper in the supermarket.
2________: I have seen some people playing music on special days on their balconies and other people play bingo there with their neighbours. And everybody is singing “Resistiré”.
3________: It is true. And there won´t be Holy Week processions this year but I´ve heard that some musicians from the band will play Thalberg´s march on their balconies.
TEACHER: Thank you so much everyone! And I hope you can overcome the pandemic soon, probably when the scientists discover the vaccine against the coronavirus.

02 MS. MOUTH
FUNNY SCIENCE TALKS
TALKING TO YOUR MOUTH
TEACHER: Hello and welcome to your Funny Science Talks!
And today we have a lovely guest, we are going to talk to our mouth.
Nice to meet you Ms. Mouth!
MS MOUTH: Nice to meet you!
TEACHER: Thank you so much to be in here Ms. Mouth!
MS MOUTH: You´re welcome. I don´t want to keep my mouth shut, I love talking.
TEACHER: And we have to say hello to our three pupils who are going to make the questions. Hello Ana!
ANA: Hello!
TEACHER: How are you María!
MARÍA: I am fine thank you!
TEACHER: And we have to say hello to Pedro too!
PEDRO: Hello every one!
TEACHER: But we are going to start with a mysterious question to you three and you have to guess the answer. Ready? Let´s go then. And the question is:
How many microorganisms are there in 1 mililitre of saliva?
And the possible answers are 1) 1 hundred, 2) 1 thousand or 3) As many as habitants are in China, 1,400 millions.
TEACHER: Ok. So interesting but I´ll tell you the answer later on.
And now let´s start with your questions to Ms. Mouth.
ANA: Which system do you belong to?
MS MOUTH: I am the most important part of your body because I belong to the digestive system, to the respiratory system and I can say “I love you” which is the most beautiful sentence in the world.
MARÍA: Do you work alone or are you a team?
MS MOUTH: I belong to a very good team made up of teeth which chew the food, the tongue which is a muscle and mixes the food with saliva and the lips which smile to you and they sometimes can kiss you.
PEDRO: A taste bud told me you didn´t like bitter tastes, is it true?
MS MOUTH: The taste buds are so talkative but it is true, I prefer sweet flavours.
ANA: What can you tell to the people who are listening to you.
MS MOUTH: Well, I am born with a silver spoon in my mouth so I love when I am clean, and it is very important to me you brush your teeth after eating every day.
MARÍA: What is your most difficult job?
MS MOUTH: I have to pay special attention when you are eating, because I have to send the food to the esophagus and the air to the trachea and a mistake here could be very dangerous.
PEDRO: Can you tell me why Mr Stomach is no so happy with you?
MS MOUTH: Well, he says that he has to work a lot because I don´t chew the food properly with my teeth but he has to zip his mouth, that is his business and he has gastric juices to help him.
TEACHER: Well, it is time to stop arguing because we are going to solve the mysterious question. And in 1 mililitre of saliva there are in fact as many microorganisms as habitants in China, that is 1,400 millions of microorganisms.
Who guessed it?
Ok. Congratulations to you. thanks to you three for your questions, Thanks to Ms. Mouth for coming here and see you in our next programme about FUNNY SCIENCE TALKS. Bye Bye!
01 MR. STOMACH
FUNNY SCIENCE TALKS
TALKING TO YOUR STOMACH
TEACHER: Hello and welcome to your Funny Science Talks!
And today we have a very special guest, we are going to talk to our stomach.
Nice to meet you Mr. Stomach!
MR. STOMACH: Nice to meet you!
TEACHER: Thank you so much to be in here Mr. Stomach!
MR. STOMACH: You´re welcome. I was hungry for a talk to you.
How many hours does the food remain in your stomach when you eat?
And the possible answers are 1) 1 hour, 2) 2 hours or 3) 4 hours.
TEACHER: Ok. So interesting but I´ll tell you the answer later on.
And now let´s start with your questions to Mr. Stomach.
ANA: Which system do you belong to?
MR. STOMACH: I am a very important organ and I belong to the digestive system.
MARÍA: And where exactly are you?
MR. STOMACH: I am under the esophagus and over the small intestine.
PEDRO: What is your real job?
MR. STOMACH: I have to break down all the food you eat with my gastric juices.
ANA: What is your relationship with the rest of the organs in the digestive system.
MR. STOMACH: Well, I have a very good relationship with the small intestine, he is my neighbour and he breaks down the food I couldn´t break it down.
I can tell you that the esophagus doesn´t do anything, he just connects the mouth with me.
And I must confess that I have some troubles with the mouth, because she is so beautiful and her friends are strong teeth but I have to do the job she doesn´t do when she doesn´t chew the food properly.
MARÍA: Any other problem with other organs?
MR. STOMACH: Yes, of course, with your eyes. Because you sometimes think that your eyes are bigger than your stomach and then I have to work a lot to finish the meal. You have to respect the stomach, you have to respect me, I am one of the most important organs in your body.
PEDRO: Can you tell me why do you think you are so important?
MR. STOMACH: Because nutrition is one of the three basic life processes. If you don´t eat you are hungry and a hungry man is an angry man.
TEACHER: But we are not angry now, because we are going to solve the mysterious question. And the time our food is in the stomach after eating is in fact 4 hours.
Who guessed it?
Ok. Congratulations to you. thanks to you three for your questions, Thanks to Mr. Stomach for coming here and see you in our next programme about FUNNY SCIENCE TALKS. Bye Bye!
